What is a spot instance, and how much notice do I get before it's reclaimed?

A spot instance runs on spare capacity at a reduced rate, and Verda can reclaim it at any point with no advance notice - the timing can't be predicted. Design spot workloads to checkpoint regularly to persistent storage and resume cleanly. At deploy time, Spot eviction storage settings controls what happens to attached storage when the instance is evicted - the default, No deletion, keeps everything; Delete OS volume only, Delete all storage, and Delete all permanently remove progressively more (shared filesystems are always retained regardless of the setting). Choose whichever option keeps what you need.
